MOUAU Students Protest FG’s Decision Of Scrapping Non-Agric Courses In The School

MOUAU Students Protest FG’s Decision Of Scrapping Non-Agric Courses In The School

tudents of the College of Management Sciences (COLMAS) of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike in Abia, on Thursday protested against the Federal Government’s policy scrapping seven courses in the college.
The affected courses are Accounting, Banking and Finance, Marketing, Economics, Entrepreneurial Studies, Industrial Relations and Business Administration.
The students protested to the office of the Dean of the college, Prof John Ihendinihu, and called on the management of the university to initiate steps toward the restoration of the courses.
The President, Association of Management Science Students (AMSS) of the university, Mr Uzoma Onuoha, said that they were disturbed by the news of the scrapping of the courses.
Onuoha said that they were worried by the development and wanted to know what the management was doing about it.
“We appeal to you sir to ensure that something is done fast to restore the programmes.
“We can never be violent or engage in any act that would bring shame to the university as we continue to express our dissatisfaction with the policy,” he said.
The students carried placards, some of which read: “Restore our programme in JAMB brochure.
“The scrapped management programmes were approved by relevant professional bodies” and “Management programmes in MOUAU have been in existence since 2003’.”
Responding, the dean said that the college with the university management was on top of the situation and hoped to get positive response from the relevant authority.

No UTME Candidate Will Be Left Out Of The Registration Process – JAMB

No UTME Candidate Will Be Left Out Of The Registration Process – JAMB

The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, has stated that no candidate would be left out of the registration process despite having a week before the end of the exercise.
He made this known during an interview with newsmen in Abuja
after inspecting some registration centres.
At the Digital Bridge Institute (one of the registration centres), Prof. Oloyede averted what could have turned out a major protest by moving over 100 candidates who were already agitating due to the slow pace of registration in the centre to other centres where there were less pressure.
The JAMB Boss ruled out the possibility of extending the registration deadline despite the challenges faced by the candidates.
According to him“About 871, 576 candidates have been registered as at Wednesday evening.
“We are going to 1,467,000 candidates. “What remains is 595,647 and we still have a whole week.
“No candidate will be left unattended to at the closing of this exercise.
“You do not want me to extend just for the sake of extension because I monitor on my screen.
“That is why there is a difference between the closing date for registration and the closing date for sale.
“By the time we sell, we will know how many that have bought but have not registered.”
When asked if how he would comply if summoned by the House Of Representatives, he said: “If I am invited, who am I not to answer them?

Have You Received Any Info From JAMB? Enter Here – Mock Exam

Have You Received Any Info From JAMB? Enter Here – Mock Exam

believe all our candidates are ready to test the new platform & technology from JAMB, and we believe they will give their honest review of the new system on this website, once they are done.
Since it’s just 2 days to the exam, JAMB ought to have sent out more details to candidates concerning the planned exam on Saturday.
We are expecting details confirming the Date of the Mock exam for the candidates, their venue (or CBT centre to write) and the time for the exam.
Since the mock exam is supposed to be a prototype of the actual exam, we expect the above information to have been sent out by now.
All those who indicated interest to write the Mock Exam, please check your emails properly to ensure an important information has not goneto your bulk or spam folder.
If you don’t see any email, please visit the JAMB portal at www.jamb.org.ng and login with your account details, to see if further information have been updated on your profile concerning the JAMB Mock Exam.
If you find anything, please don’t hesitate to come back here and let us know your findings, so as to alert other candidates.
If JAMB has not sent out messages concerning the Mock Exam by now, we only wonder how prepared they are for the 2017 UTME.
